The typical Swiss Army Knife consists of a multitude of tools. Almost all of them have variations of blades, can openers, bottle openers and drivers. But there are also a few models that just have one or two blades in them, like the Alox Solo, the 111mm Sentinel, the 84mm Secretary or the Alox Pioneer Pruner. These models have nothing but blades in them and utility-wise, may not be that much different compared to other non-multi-tool knives like the typical Spyderco or Benchmade.
Question is, how many of you guys here use these single or dual blade Swiss Army Knives as your basic knife? Or do you guys prefer your Swiss Army Knives to be what it quintessentially is: a multitool? Would you choose a Swiss Army Knife as a single blade knife over, say, a Spyderco? Or do you just carry a Swiss Army Knife because it can have functions that a single blade knife can't... and therefore making a single or double blade Swiss Army Knife not have any niche at all? Does a Swiss Army Knife with a single, or dual jack knife style blades make sense to you at all? Or is it just trying to be what it shouldn't be? Should it always have it's openers and it's drivers, in addition to the baldes, to be in your pocket?
