Single bladed GEC like the S&M Heritage?

I don't know what the shape of the handle on the S&M Heritage is called. Do GEC have any knives with a similar handle, approximately the same size (3-3/4″) and a single blade?

Prefferably a slip joint with spear, wharncliffe or sheepsfoot.

The #85 is a little smaller and it has two blades. I saw a picture of a couple special 85s for sale. Single blade and easy open, I wish they were mine.

I think the #15 Boys Knife might be what you're looking for. It's a bit shorter at 3.5", but they have made them with clip, spear, and sheepfoot blades. The #85 is more of a Teardrop shape and has a pretty wide handle and blade compared to the Heritage Jacks from what I can tell.

I have two heritages and the closest thing GEC has is the single blade 54 pattern....most recently produced as an sfo for northwoods.

GEC doesn't offer anything that is exactly like the Schatt & Morgan Heritage Jack. All the recommendations you receive will be approximations. Either the size will be different, or the handle size will be a bit off.

I think the closest thing to what you are looking for is the #15 series. The HJ is 3 3/4" closed as opposed to the #15's 3 1/2", but the #15 has a more efficient blade-to-handle ratio. The HJ's blade is < 1/8" longer than the blade on my spearpoint Charlow.

That HJ looks huge compared to the TC Barlow in that photo. Do you have any more comparison photos of the two? I would love to pick one of the HJ up, but they have been sold out for a while now.

Here you go.

They are very similar knives. The Charlow carries better, but the HJ feels awesome in the hand. As you can see the difference in blade length is minimal.

The #15 Boy's Knife is very similar. Not exactly the same length, but the weight and 'feel' of the two are comparable.

The northwoods you're talking about, is it the forest jack? There's one on it's way to me. Can someone compare it to the S&M and/or the #15?

I have a sheepsfoot TC barlow, but the handle is too short to compare to the S&M. The handle size on the S&M is about as perfect as it gets for me.

I have quite large hands, and carry a single blade spear point 15 Charlow every day. I was carrying my single blade SM, but put that on the shelf in favor of the 15.
