I recently saw a cheap multitool that had one folding blade with several tools in one: flat screwdriver, can opener, serrated blade edge, three hex cutouts (wrenches), separate bottle opener. Theoretically, this blade alone would make a decent multitool. My Mauser SAK/GAK has a single blade with the combo-tool (can/bottle opener, flat screwdriver that also fits large Phillips), saw, and file. I've also seen a Littlemesters single blade folder with what appeared to be a can opener/knife blade.
This got me to thinking, if you were to design a single bladed folding multi tool, what would you configure? How many tools could you cram onto a single piece of steel and still find reasonably useful?
