OK, I ran out of the little single serve gatoraid mix packets and can not seem to find them Anywhere around here. I keep a big bucket of the stuff and I like it. But, I also keep several of the packets in my BOBs for just in case. Can't find them in the local stores so I am about to order them off the net. Before I do that ($35 to $50 budget) Is there a better product in a single serve? Camelbak Elixer, G2, Exceed, Powerbar, Eload?

Medical-grade electrolyte packets are much more effective, but they are disgusting and more expensive. I like the gatorade ones because they taste good(my wife disagrees), but you might as well just get the really cheap ones (i.e. ones with no salt/sugar) and mix em' with a couple packets of sugar and a couple packets of salt.

not exactly sure what your looking for,
if its just an electrolyte replacement,
you can get tiny Propel packets at big chain grocery stores,
near the koolaid section.
If its something to sustain energy for rigorous
activity over I long period,I use Succeed Clip2 and Amino

He has a product called S-Caps which is kind of a salt capsule
which is the Electrolyte in a capsule. You take it with water.
Those are THE electrolytes use. Excellent stuff, lets you control
your salt,independent of any calories.

I've started to use HydroLyte with some of the kids I work with, its an Aussie product but becoming more available. it tastes decent (uses splenda as a sweetener which some people don't like) and is based on WHO recommendations for re-hydration salts. very good stuff. I recently also got some stuff called NUUN. it comes in an effervescent tablet form, has less salts (more for maintenance than re-hydration) and is quite good. I got the flavor that is caffeinated, as they were out of the other flavors, but I'll be getting some of them next chance I get as well.

Got some gatoraid packets at costco.. Works realy good and had some hiking buddies tell me that after they mixed it with there water it felt like an energy boost and they felt much better 10 min after drinking. I mix less then half as much into the water as it says. For best results you should mix about a 1\3 with the water as the lable says and you are good to go. So one packet goes a long way realy. I alway carry two packets with me on backpacking just in case.

Gatoraid and Exceed is good stuff, I have personally seen many folks losing it on the side of the road on bike rides, a cup of stuff and 10 minutes later they are good to go. Electrolyte ballance is very critical, My GFs mom got overheated and passed out, they were about to transport her until I got there with the gatorade, in 10 or 15 she was under her own power and went home.

I am on a vitamin regimen, and they also have a sports drink single serve. PM me, and I will send you a sample in the mail if you want to try it.
