I have heard about the "safety cooncerns" of using double bit axes for years, but have never actually met somebody who was injured by one (I have known plenty of people who've been "nicked" by chainsaws though). Could someone with firsthand knowledge of an ax-ident that was specifically due to a double please comment on how it happened and how it could have been prevented?

Think most is common sense with a double never swing near anyone:eek:

Hey Trailtime-

A friend of mine was using a double and set it in a stump while he was taking a break. Later slipped, fell, and caught his arm on it. That's all I know of personally, though. I've heard of accidents more when working with more than one person (hitting someone else...).
