A couple weeks ago, I picked up the recent issue of Blade, and read the cover article about the actor/musician Johnny Strong and his knives. The knives have a Grayman/Strider look about them, Wally Hayes is his mentor, they also covered the movie Sinners and Saints. I bought the movie last night, and I'm glad I did. It's not the Godfather, but it was a really good, fun movie. A lot of the movies I've seen in the theater have been stinkers, I wish I would have seen this one in the theather (not sure, but it might be a direct to DVD release?) If you have the chance, check it out. The gunbattle scenes were great. Way over the top, but maybe that's just how New Orleans is ;).

I agree, I thought it was a pretty good movie, I just watched it last night. I also believe that you're right about it being straight to DVD.

I didn't know about the film until Blade's article or that JS had acting chops. I knew of him because of his band Operator. He's now a burgeoning knife maker..this guy has some artistic flare. Anyway I threw him an e-mail about making me a pair of knives for my son and I. He did respond and promised to add us to the "list" so will see if his blade ware is a passing fade or if he's a serious maker now.
