Back from a 4-day backpacking trip in Alabama. We had a group of about 11 people. Weather was good to us, lows in the 30’s F, but no rain. Good times with good people.

The Big Poplar Tree

It's been a couple of years, but what a fun place: the big poplar, eye of the needle, ship rock, caves, waterfalls.

The huge boulders are fun to play on, but the rock climbing is not good due to the crumbly nature of the walls. It is a great place for some cool rappelling. There are some great swimming holes for summer.

Armadillos will rummage through in the middle of the night. Watch out for copperheads in warm weather.
