I received a sirupate from auntie yesterday and I love it. It was sold with the knowledge that it had some rust on the tip. A little steel wool, gun solvent and oil went a long way The only other HI blade I have to compare it to is a chitlange. I actually like this one better than the chitlange. Not that the chitlange is bad or anything is wrong it just appears in my personal opinion the sirupates fit and finish is better. It handles lighter although still not as light as I wanted but it will do. The karda and chakma are in excellent condition. They are straight with good sized handles. The only thing is the kukri fits loose in the sheath as well as the small tools. Fit and finish are excellent there is no filing to be done on the bell (no sharp edges) except the blade. The handles on my chitlange's karda and chakma are just to small for me. I pair that one with an esee izula. I don't really know what to say besides I am having a hard time deciding between the new sirupate and my esee junglas as my favorite large blade. I cant wait to test it out. It is a work of art. I am seriously considering just using the chitlange as a work tool and holding my sirupate as my training blade and display model. I know its kind of an anathema not to let your kukri do any real work but I just really like this one and don't want to mess it up. It is a 18 inch model with a 12 inch blade. I am definitely going to have to get the 15 inch blade for more portability for camping and use thinking villager 15 inch. Oh my wallet is going to kill me in my sleep.

Those Sirus are something else, right:) I have a couple myself. Our longtime forumite friend Sarge referred to the 15" version as a fine fighting knife, and this was coming from one of the best guys who spent a lot of time around the globe looking after our country's best interests:)

Looks like you got one from the "beer mug" kami. I'm not sure of his name, but he generally puts out some really good work.

Congrats:thumbup:

Just another echo, my experience with Tirtha's work has been all excellent. You won't be disappointed, 18 inches is plenty of khuk to chop with, no matter the model.

Holy Cow I didn't know that was Tirtha's mark:) Thanks guys. I really need to bush up on these "new guys" working for HI.:o

I'm really loving how Tirtha's new work is featuring the more traditional curved handle! I think it not only looks better but makes for a more secure grip.
