Sirupati vs Gelbu Special which is the lighteset? Which has the best choping and slicing power? Also which is the penetration leader?

Thank All

Are we talking about knives !!

;)

I think the Sirupati is the lightest but Pala says that the GS should replace the BAS as an issue knife. Maybe I'm wrong but if a Gorkha says the GS should be the issue khuk then it must be pretty darn good overall. As far as penetration goes I think the Siru would win as the blade profile is overall more straight so therefore should be better at penetration.

I keep a record of the weights for various Khuks on the blem posts. I have both the 18in Siru and 18in GS weighing in at 18-24 ounces.

That slightly straighter profile sure makes the Sirupati one heck of a slicer too. My wife give me back my 15" Siru but she still comes and borrows it quit often to slice up bigger pieces of meat like a roast. I like the 18" for a work knife and I have a lot of respect for a knife that can handle almost any thing you can imagine. I don't abuse it but I do work it pretty hard once in a while with no problems. :) :D
