I have a few questions regarding Buck Sirus knives. The gun metal grey and the platinum Anodized Aluminum ones in particular. Why the different mod. #'s. Both are Asst. Opening aren't they? Also, to the best of my knowlege they made the blades out of two types of SS. One being 420 HC and the other being 154 CM. How do you tell the two appart, are the blades stamped stating the type? 154 Cm being the better of the two, I'd like to find one with that blade. Also, are they discontinued?

I'd like to know more about these particular knives in detail. I love em'!!!

I've checked out the site and your right, the prices are great for these knives with 420 steel. After more research, I've learned that the Sirus that I am looking for has been discontinued for what ever reasons. IMO the 298 with the smooth black gun metal scales was the best looking Sirus on the market. I'd much rather have that one then one with gothic skulls or tattoo jibberish on it. And the flashy blue and red ones ain't for me. I'm not a clown cutting ribbon for balloons at a kids birthday party. I'm a hunting, fishing, blacksmithing, bladesmithing, knife collecting, beer drinking, Dept. of State working man that just wants a knife that I can pull out of my pocket without the notion that I am being stereotyped because it has skulls or flames on it. I mean really, to what demographic is Buck trying to market these knives to? Gothic Freak kids in High School, the newly tattoo'd dyke trying to be more-a-man than her daddy or the Straight outdoorsman who wants to field dress a deer or give to his son on there first big hunting trip. Seems to me its the first two.

I just realized I've probably crossed a few lines that I should'nt have, and my sentences are running together more that one of Sarah Palins speaches but I just needed to vent.
