Does anyone have any experience with the new Buck Sirus ? I was particularly interested in how they compare to Kershaw's assisted openers. Thanks in advance for responding...

I wrote a review of the Leek that directly compares it to the Buck Rush and Sirus in several areas.

The great thing about the Bucks is the location of the safety. Right next to the index-open-mound-button-thingy, so it is easy to turn on and off. The safety on the Kershaws is at the tip of the blade when closed, so it is more out of the way.

However, I prefer the Kershaws (with the index-open feature) to the Bucks in every other way. They, IMO, have my cleaner, more elegant designs. I am speaking of the Leek, Scallion and Chive.

I would rather have a Sirus than one of the assisted Kershaws that must be opened with the thumbstud since they lack a choil that sticks out the back of the handle when closed.

The Buck's opening action is comparable to the Kershaws. I.E. the Buck system works just as good. The steel is also compareable, which Buck probably having the edge. The main difference for me is design, and I find the Ken Onion designs to be brilliant and sleek while the Buck Rush and Sirus are just "okay".
