Sitting on a goldmine?

I can't see the pics. The link is not working. I guess that to a hardend collector, some restoration and pitting might really hurt the value, but if they are for you then they can be as valuable as you want to make them;) If you want to sell, it might hurt the value, but surely a re-enactment person or someone similar would pay a decent price for the real deal. I would like to see pics so I hope you can get them working. Whatever it turns out to be worth, I bet it was fun finding them!:D

That's a 1910/1917 bolo knife used in WW1. If the mark was changed, then it was someone trying to fake an older Bowie.

The knife if left in nice condition would have been in the $100 range, now it would mainly have value as an user.

HTH:).

I checked, the page works fine for myself and others, it may be your ISP...

It appears that the only restoration done to it was to attempt to remove the rust, I may be new to knives, but I know a good bit about guns and restoring them (as i've tried to do with several rust piles ;D )

The Sandbar Bowie refers to the knife that Jim Bowie used during the Sandbar Episode. This fight helped to make Bowie a legend. There is great debate over what knife he used and the fate of said knife. The Sandbar knife could almost be described as the "Holy Grail" of knives.

I can see clearly now the rain is gone:rolleyes: I can see it now, at the very minimum it will make a great story knife, but I bet you might could get some $$$ if you wanted to. Congrats on the find

Still standing by my answer, it is a 1910/17 bolo made by the F. Plumb tool company. Type 1910 bolo into Google and you'll see it bears me out.

As was said before, the knife is a 1917 Bolo knife. In excellent condition with the original sheath they bring about $125-$150. Check out ebay it has to almost brand new to get much any higher. Good luck!
