Hi all, for my first post I'm showing off my main work blade (I'm a plumber) which is a Spyderco Tenacious I purchased under 25 bucks six years ago. This thing has been with me five days a week performing all my cutting task on job sites. This includes cutting cardboard, scraping chalk and other sealants, and even batoning small 2x4s to make shims. This thing has held up incredibly well, has been honed weekly and sharpened countless times as chips, dents, and rollovers have occurred.

There are some minor issues that came with as the knife aged. Screws have stripped and blade play has increased as the thin brass phosphorus washers wear.

But if there is anyone wondering if these budget Spydercos hold up for the long haul here are some pictures.

My Tenacious was one of my favorites, sometimes earning more pocket time than other "high end" folders,,, unfortunately I had to ditch it at the airport to make my flight home and not check my bag :(

Strong first post. Also, good choice in work knives. I managed to convince one of my co-workers (warehouse) to stop getting POS Smith and Wesson knives and try an entry-level Spyderco, and he's been raving about his Tenacious ever since he got it. He'd never had a knife that was designed for cutting performance before (full flat grind FTW IMO) and has completely changed his perspective on what makes for a good knife.

Excellent post!!
I'm in HVAC and carry an Endura.....I'm cutting most of the stuff you are and that bad boy holds up beautifully!!
It amazes me how often that blade will help all day long!

ok, I have to ask. Where these pics taken while sitting on the porcelain thrown? Great first post regardless and its great to see an owner who is realistic about his expectations of a knife and treats it like the tool it is.

Good knives to bad i stabbed mine in a tree trying to see what a cheaper knife would do.
