I found this knife annoying as all heck !
The front flipper lever kept bitting me , the rear of the knife is irritating ( all 4 corners )
The cut out for the thumb stud was too small .
Factory Edge :
Actually well ground by the factory .
Edge retention was 70 slices of rope . ( Not a good thing )
Guided knife sharpener : 180grit Diamond / 600grit Diamond / 1500grit oxide / 5000 grit oil stone / leather and cardboard stropping ..
250 slice fail with what looks to be a roll .
Wet Stone grinder : 80 grit white wheel .
Surprise / surprise ! Ok , while grinding ..... The edge felt / sounded crispy crunchy ! So I ground till the edge felt smooth and was less noisy !
Resulting in a 500 slice fail .. Now 500 is a really nice number . Especially on a budget knife . I didn'y pay that much for mine ( feebay auction )
Mods :
I ground the flipper lever / extension away .. It was just so annoying !
With that lever gone , I'm a much happier camper !
This knife was pulled up by a customs agent as a gravity flick knife and seized .
I made a request for the knife to be released on the grounds that the seizure was BS .
Who ever was in charge concurred and here we are .
So to date I have tightened the liner lock , ground away the FF flipper tab , and ground away the crunch stuff resulting in decent edge retention .
Do You Want one of these knives ? Unless you need to add one to your collection , maybe not !
Pick it up cheap enough , prepared to do some mods maybe ... Then maybe you want one ?
