I just received a CRKT Companion and am happy with the quality of the knife. However, the blade looks a bit short to me. Bob Kasper's web site lists the custom Companion's blade length at 4". The CRKT's blade is listed at 3.56". Are the dimensions of the two knives the same or did they shorten the Companion for the CRKT version?

I am sorry, I can not serve with an answer.

An answer interested me as well.

I would be thankful for a link to Bob Kasper’s website.

It would not be the first time that a collaboration knife was a different size than the original custom pattern it was based upon. The most well-known example would be the LCC by MT. It is clearly larger than the original by Lightfoot.

I have to admit I was surprised when comparing my CRKT KFF up to the Companion. So far as I can see, the folder's blade is longer than the fixed.

I just got an email from my friend and bladeforums member, Damon. He measured his custom Companion and it was the same as the CRKT version. I guess that Bob Kasper and CRKT have a different interpretation of blade length.

Well, there's length and then there's size doesn't matter. Two supposedly different perceptions of the same physical dimension.
