Size comparison between Dragonfly 2 and Manbug

I do not have a photo to show you at the moment. I can offer this, though: The Dragonfly and Manbug are very close as far as blade size. The real difference is in the handle. The DF has a curved handle with a choil so I can get most of 4 fingers on the knife using the choil. The MB is a 3 finger knife, pure and simple. I prefer (slightly) the aesthetics of the MB but I prefer the size of the DF. I have a DF in my pocket now.

Hope this helps, i tend to prefer the Manbug although i believe the DF to be just about perfect for EDC, the short lanyard i have tied on both helps in giving me a full 4 finger grip for OHO.

Thanks for the pic. I'm looking at getting the Zdp version for two reasons. One being I don't have a knife in Zdp and the second, every time I'm using my knives at home my son wants to help.or is very interested. I have a Dragonfly Salt but he has a little trouble getting a secure grip on it. He is only 4 so his hands are very small. And no just to clarify if a knife is in his hand his hand is in my hand.

Hi CryoGuy, while i am all for training future knife nuts early, i can not help but think that by starting your little guy of on "Super Steel" you are making a rod for your own back LOL

The steel is for me and a small knife that I can put in his hand is my way to justify it. He will probably not use it very often. My plan is to get both my boy's Df2 from KW and have them engraved. Then when they are old enough pass them along

Also the price difference between the Zdp and Vg10 is very minimal so I see no reason to not spend the little bit more for a better steel

Why not get yourself the ZDP and then get a standard Manbug for him and take the sharp edge and point off until he is older?

Just as I do with my ladybug3, I usually end up using my manbug seated on my fingertips. The pictures really don't do the Dragonfly2 justice. At least for me, in hand and using it, the DF2 is substantially more knife than a manbug or lb3. As a user, the ergonomics of the DF2 are far superior. It actually fills my hand nicely for such a small knife.

With all that said though, where the manbug and LB3 shine are as a Keychain knife.

I totally glossed over the child/heirloom part of this thread. That's a neat idea.
I wanna do the same for their first rifle as well. Grew up without my father and didn't get to learn some of what I consider essential life skills until I was older. I believe every man should know how to use a knife and how to shoot a firearm. My boy's will learn these and the proper discipline to go with it.

Sorry,Sorry,Sorry, i am useless with numbers just got my 9 year old great niece to check my sums and it comes out at $13.90 which is a bit more bearable i guess.
