Any of you have both of these knives so I can see them side by side?
Closed and open...

Which do you prefer?

Corey

They are made on the same frame. The whittler is slightly wider to allow for the third blade.

No, the Norfolks are 3 1/4 closed. I Think the Esquire is 2 3/4.
I only have the Norfolk 2 blade, so can't give you a side by side.
The difference in width would be the addition of the wedge needed to fit the third blade. I have not seen the back of the whittler but assume it's a split back spring like the picture.

I have both, sorry I do not have a comparison photo. They are the same size, I like things about both. THe two blade has a wonderful long warny blade that is great for fruit and lots of thing during the day. THe 3 blade has stout shorter warny blade that is better for Whittling (stronger I believe) and two other (Clip and and coping). I will admit that I would gladly trade the clip point for a pen blade! the two secondary blades are really small. That said the Whittler is in my7 pocket most days. Steven

You might check with Knives ship free for an ivory Norfolk. This ban on ivory is messing things up. Derrick is showing one, it may be sold though, it may be the impending ban.

Wish I could find a Elephant Ivory Norfolk.

Derrick at KSF was out of the regular Norfolks (in elephant ivory, that is) as of the date of your post -- He only had the Norfolk Whittlers in elephant ivory, and I bought the last few he still had in stock on that same date. They should be here any day...

...and Derek is not stingy with his hoard. :)

Here's my Norfolk in Smooth Calico Bone. I prefer a small knife like this as single-spring, the Whittler version's secondary blades are likely to be very small.
