Greetings,

I am sure someone has posted this in the past, but after searching a bit, I figured a post may be more efficient. I have only one 'modern' folder, and it is a spyderco paramilitary. The only thing I don't much care for is the actual way it sits in my pocket as it is difficult to get a hand in there too. Does anyone have profile shots of a small sebenza and a para (blade open, blade closed, etc.) Also, any opinions from those that have owned both in terms of how they fit in the pocket, how they fit in the hand. (I've been putting off a sebenza purchase for 10 years. As a science guy, I am more than eager to check out the craftsmanship, etc. However, I need to know that it will be comfortable and be carried. I know it can be resold if it doesn't 'fit', but reselling can be kind of a hassle.

I have a small Sebenza, a large Sebenza, and a Paramilitary 2. I like all three knives a lot. While I don't have any pictures handy at the moment, the Sebebzas fit exceptionally well in my pocket, it is one of the reasons I like them so much, they're so slim. I'm sure you'll appreciate that aspect of the Sebenza.

The small Sebenza is a smaller knife so it will feel more comfortable in your pocket.

My Paramilitary 2 fits better in the hand because it has a longer handle. If you were comparing it to the large Sebenza then they are about the same in terms of comfort and size. It is just a matter if you prefer sand blasted titanium or textured g10 against your hands.

If you like the length of the Paramilitary then you should go with a large Sebenza. When closed the knife is not as wide as the Paramilitary and this will give you more room in your pocket. Not much but some.

They aren't side by side but they're close to each other.

thanks. that helps. for legal carry reasons, I prefer a small. I have larger hands, and the para has more handle than necessary (not in a bad way though). The thumb holes make them broad too. I typically carry a slipjoint or sak, so maybe it is just a habit.

In a small, you might try the micarta inlay. It has a little more fullness(as well as grip) to it, and a personal favorite of mine.

Small sebenza's handle is definitely smaller than the para2. I can get a full grip on the para2 with some butt hanging out. The small sebenza completely disappears in my hand and its a more of a 3 finger grip.

i found my para 2 to ride better in my pocket when i switched it to tip down carry. the hump over the spyder hole caused it to sit further out into my pocket than i liked
