I'm interested in finding out the size difference between an rc3 and a RAT 3...I just thought someone might know off hand...

on a side note I just got my first Rat, and I love it I heard the RC models are way better of course, and am looking forward to upgrading soon THanks,

in that thread it is both the RC3 & RAT3 both are USA made that particular RAT3 is D2 by looking at the gray color paint the RAT3 1095 version is black. The RAT Cutlery RC3 is 1095.

It is my understanding that the handle of the RC3 is larger/longer than the handle on the RAT-3. Also, of course the RC3 has the glass breaking sharp pommel.

I know that you specifically asked about size but I wanted to point out what I think is the most significant difference -- The company - only the RC3 is manufactured, sold and backed by the RAT Cutlery Company. Many of us beieve that is a very significant difference. Also, only the RC3 is backed by the no questions asked warranty. Lastly -- the sheath system - only the RC3 comes with the excellent sheath system that supports almost an endless number of secure carry methods.

Cool thanks for the help noys I'm new to this style of knives.. much obliged...I like the blade size and the choil on the rat 3 but want tall the good stuff of an rc-3 that's why I posted..I just wanted to make sure they were similar in size...

my advice: get 'em both! lol

seriously though, I bought a couple Rat's(Rat 5&7) before I bought my first RC, an RC4, all you have to do is handle both of them and IMO the quality difference will be noticed immediately. I now have an RC4, RC3, an Izula on the way, and am eagerly awaiting the RC5, if that tells ya which ones I like better. And of course Mike and Jeff are great guys who stand behind their product 110%, which is kinda rare these days.
