Size matters!!!

:confused:I'm looking for the prefect knife at 3.25". I have many 3" knives and 3.5" knives and they all seem to large or to small. Need an in between. Please help my BF Friends.
 
Fixed or folder, workfloor, outdoors, or food prep?
How much are you looking to spend?
 
Handle or blade length? Actual cutting edge or total length including ricassos and choils?
 
A quarter inch is what I would classify as "comes out in the wash" when overall blade shape and geometry are concerned. Said another way, small differences in blade length are way down the list of discussion items on a grouping of knives when talking about my preferences for one over the other.

What specifically have you used (and somewhat liked) that seemed to be the wrong length?
