There is probably a better term for it but at this time in the morning and with only a tiny bit of coffee in me I can not think of it.

Does anyone have an exploded view of an emmerson, i was wondering what size all the bits and pieces that hold it together are, i know the ZeroTolerance models, in particular the 0301 is massively overbuilt, and I was wondering how the emmersons compare.

I know Mr Emmerson does not compare his wares with others...but I figure the rest of us do!

Thanks

do you mean the pivot screw?

i want to say the screw is 3/16", but cant remember for certain.

The pivot on the EKIs is 6mm or just under 8/32" or about 4/16"

The pivot on my ZT300 is just over 4.5mm or just under 6/32" or just under 3/16" for comparison.

I dont have callipers on hand so these measurements were done with a ruler and are not exact, obviously.

The Emerson pivot is visualy bigger and has a "male-female" bolt threded on the inside usually called a "chicago screw".
The ZT is threaded on the out side like a traditional bolt and nut, I dont think this will make any big difference in strength but i thought i would mention it.

Well, this is the Emerson forum :D

The ZT is a superb knife no two ways about it. Its a chunky knife and it gets the job done. Its only really comparble to the HD Emersons and i do prefer my cqc-12 over the ZT. I carry the 12 everyday and its just about perfect for me. The HD-7 is also right up there but im not a huge tanto fan.

The ZT is a bigger heaver knife than both the EKIs and i only really carry it when i feel like a change.

I have many, many Emersons so im probably what you would call a "fan boy" but the ZT is one of the better frame locks i have and it is finished to a better standard then the EKIs. It has a machined patern on both scales, anodised Ti slab + hinderer lock stop, a liner on the G-10 side (to house the assisted opening) and S30V over EKIs 154CM, but did also cost more so......
