Anyone know if the Spec ops Combat Master Short sheath is a good fit with the SJ tac? If so, can anyone provide a pic of the knife with the sheath? Thanks

I can’t remember if Eric’s SJ TAC was in a short or long Combat Master, but the pics must still be around here somewhere.

I’m carrying my SJ TAC in a long Combat Master until Dwayne gets a pattern knife.

I've got my TSJ in the shorter CombatMaster (it's sold as a 5 1/2"). The blade fits just fine, IF you remove that lower screw first. Then, I think a blade perhaps up to an inch longer might fit.

See the pics below. I use the large for the SJT right now, modified with a low heat setting and careful use of heat gun for the nice push fit at the sheath throat. I want to use the shorter one, but the screw provides 'issue'.

Note the F-SH may fit in the large, but may take considerable manipulation - anyone already do this with the large/F-SH combo?

Thanks for the pics and info.
What exactly does the lower screw do? hold in the kydex liner?

yep,,

thats exactly what it does,,

I have one of the Spec Op's sheaths for my SFNO ,,,it is a helluva sheath and very well made.

for the money you caint go wrong with one

So which size should I get? I dont really want a sheath that is alot longer than the knife, but I also dont want the liner to come popping out easily. Advice?

I’d go with the long Combat Master.

I don’t like the idea of having to take the retention screw out to make the knife fit the short sheath.
