Hey Forum!

We finally received a partial shipment of our newest knife. The Buck Folding Hunter configured SKBlades style.

Features:

D2 Steel
Clip Point
Flat Ground Blade
Cocobolo Dymondwood Inlays
Nickel Silver Bolsters
Brown Distressed Leather Sheath
and of course, the Buck Forever Warranty

It's a handsome knife if I do say so myself. Buck did a great job.

We are letting you know about it first before we post to the masses, AKA eBay. Thanks for taking a look!!

Wow... Very nice. The only thing that could have made that knife better would have been a drop point blade.
That said, NS D2 and Cocobolo is just about enough to make me hit the buy button

I said the exact same thing when we asked Buck to make 2 samples. One in a clip and the other in a drop point. I thought drop point was the easy choice. However, comparing the 2 side by side, the drop point just felt weak. I don't know how to describe it. And who in their right mind makes a knife based on how it makes them feel? I guess we do! Hahah! Anyway, I wouldn't rule it out in the future. Looking forward, at the end of May we have a line of G10 Drop Point 110s coming out that I hope everyone loves.

Thanks for the comment! It's comments like yours that help us get the knives you want. Good for us and good for you!

I seem to be collecting 110s with different steel lately. D2 is one I do not have. I understand it is a really good steel. There has been a lot of talk about flat grind blades on this forum so I can't wait to get this one.

I'm not sure why the drop point would feel weak, that's one of the great things about a properly designed drop point, but they always say to go with your gut feeling...

I don't know! It's possibly I'm slightly crazy. The clip point and the cocobolo just seemed meant for each other! :) We'll be doing plenty of drop points though.

I doubt you are any crazier than the rest of us :D Have you thought about doing a 112 ? I REALLY love the 112's. Even though I have big hands, I like my knives on the smaller side, and the 112 fits like it was made just for me

I like the 110's and 112's but rarely carried them because I can't get used to having things hanging on my belt, with the exception of a holster :D,
but I'm having a had time not pulling the trigger on one of these. I really like that you chose to go with a distressed leather sheath.
IMHO they really add a nice touch... Don't be surprised if you see another order coming through soon :D

I forgo to ask earlier, being that the scales are diamond wood, is there a big variation in the coloring ? I really like the color of the wood in your pictures

I packaged up 4 today, and opened 2 of them to check on just that. I didn't notice a big variation, which is good. The charcoal dymondwood we did had a very light layer and a dark layer that made each knife pretty different when the factory did the polishing. So far, I have not noticed the same drastic variation in these, but have only opened 2. We will continue to check on them as we send them out! As of now, I can only speak to the 3 I have seen with my own eyes...

As for the 112s, we have those on the drawing board! I agree with you 100% on the sheath. I have never carried a 110 traditionally on my belt. However, while I'm waiting for our 830 to come out, I've been pocket carrying a G10 drop point 110 and have really liked it. It's a little bulky and will get swapped with the 830, but for now it's doing the job.

Thanks!!
