For some reason the 250 in the run didn't sell quickly. I absolutely love the Lil'Jack and bought 2. In the end the last few went on clearance for $65.00..It's still the only D-2 112..
D2 gets an unfair rap. People claim that it rusts too easily.

Personally, I love D2 and always have loved it. Minimal care will keep it from rusting and it takes a really keen edge and keeps it.

I rarely hear anyone complain about rusting with d2. its more sharpening complaints.
I have heard a lot of complaints re: rusting over the years.

What are the “issues” with sharpening? I have not had problems sharpening it. I have more issues with S30V than I ever have with D2.

weird that ya have. in my 10 years here I see little on rusting. its so close to stainless....I can't imagine too much rust...ive never rusted one myself and im in the rust creating capital..

tons on takes a poor edge and holds it forever.... guess we read different posts....

These would make a great addition to Buck's Heritage line of knives.
We may well see a clone this year as a BOTM. ( I did just change the batteries in my time machine.... 😊 )

If a knife was going to rust, where jbmonkey lives would be at the top of list for potential. I put much faith in his word.

As for sharpening, D2 does give me fits just not quite as much as S30V. I have two D2 users but they are non-Buck knives. One of them has been relatively easy to maintain but the other is a royal pain in the rear.

I am starting to have a love affair with 20CV and M4 so I very much hope to see these become more common with Buck in the future.
