I was just thinking what happened with this one. It seemed like a of the silent knights were 5-600 from the factory and now they can be found new for around 400. I personally like them, so I wasn't sure if the market got over saturated, the recurve wasn't popular or what? Thanks for any input

Generally it's "what the market will bear" and who knows, I believe there were a lot of them??? but that's relative obviously. I'd be happier seeing things stay at least what they cost? but hey, people gonna do what they gonna do. I absolutely love mine and it's not going anywhere- but 4 bones is one hell of a deal on an amazing piece. 1 day you'll look back on this and wonder "why didn't I buy them all" is my guess.

It's a cool looking blade and I got two when they were released but felt there were much more useful designs out there than the SKs. I couldn't see myself grabbing it over another knife for any application honestly and sold them within a month. But that's just me. I think I'm going to be hard to please going forward though when it comes to users - with my REK'd TGLB, Nuked FM, ASH 2, SWATMANDU, and REK'd Park Ranger all my bases are covered. I'm sure Bossman will release something though. :) And that's a valid point to the conversation...I think unless someone HAS TO HAVE a knife they're saving up for what comes next. I don't think the SK is have-to-have like TG variants, the Mandus, or one of the bigger ASH or FSH blades.

I’m also seeing mostly BG stuff in the exchange, so that might also be another reason for the price difference.

I bought one and put it up on the exchange.

For me it was the handle...I just wasn't feeling it-- literally.

"Horses for courses" is a saying that comes to mind.

The efficiency of Free Market Capitalism (even in Commie and heavily Socialist nation’s), will over time, accurately determine the “street value” of any purchasable commodity.

I don't say this lightly but In my opinion the SK was kind of a dud for Busse. It is the one of the first of the recent knives to have a comp finish and they are the sloppiest ugliest comp finishes i've seen. When I ordered it I expected it to look more like the comp finish of the DS8. They charged extra for it over the coated versions and I have stripped many many coated knives that had much nicer looking metal than the CF SK's. With the recurve and the CBT it is more of a pretty collectors item than a user and with the finish as sloppy as it is it simply fails at that. I have had an infi CF Silent Knight for sale for over a month at a significant loss and no interest at all.

Same here. I got two, I love the knife, but it just didn't fit anywhere as the best option. If I could keep all knives I would, but I cant so I sold mine. Don't have a single complaint about it however, and would love to live a life where the SK was the best option for what I needed. Some kind of post apocalyptic road warrior scenarion - but wait, thats the trough raider's job. See how tough this is?

Thanks for the input everyone. I generally agree with a lot of this. The comp finish on my sample of 1 is not as polished as I had hoped which kinda hurts its value as a safe queen. I'm thinking the machining on the recurve and cbt would probably have been harder compared other busse kin and this was the result. I don't think the knife has enough length or weight to make a great chopper, and there lighter options for a fighter. All these things put the SK in a weird limbo and it struggles to find its place. That all said, I still like mine and don't see her departing anytime soon ;)

Same here, The handle isn't as contoured as the Moask or older silent knights. Which is a shame because the blade makes such a nimble fighter that's capable of chopping as well. At the lower prices these are going for, Im thinkng about having the handle reshaped on mine.
