Off to England in a couple of days, first to the Cotswolds for a bit of country walking and then a few days in London, staying near the British Museum. Are there any knife shops in London worth seeing? (Maybe a nice little skean dhu, hand forged from bog iron?) I'll be carrying, of course, a totally legal SAK:rolleyes:.

Knives? In London? You must be joking. I heard if you utter the word "knife" you get swarmed by bobbies, carried off to a detention centre and are never heard of again. :p

I love looking at pictures of the Cotswolds.
The area is so picturesque and feels "old". I'd love to live there, I think.
Have a great time, take lots of pictures and don't forget to share with us...

Maybe I should just tote a blunt instrument like a cudgel, or maybe a trendy mace or a bludgeon. Perhaps a blackthorn cane... (lead weighted).

You will be right at the wrong end of the county for a Sgian-dubh although you might see some nice ones in the museum. It's hard enough to get a good one in Scotland these days. You may or may not find some knives in hunting shops in rural areas of the Cotswolds. You will be wasting your time wandering London for a knife shop that has anything you will want to see for prices you will want to pay.

Ed -I asked the same question not long ago here and on British Blade forum.
Conclusion -nothing worth seeing in London knife /hunting shops that you would'nt be able to get cheaper on the net.
Sad but true. Even Sheffield got a "wouldn't recommend".
That being said there are numerous makers In UK . They are also on the net.
I think I'll take my Mrs to France to a little town called La Thier for a second honeymoon.Gotta be points in that.
cheers
safe trip.
