I recently finished a clip point that I took to the Begg GTG. Someone said I should do it in a skeleton form (no handles). At first I thought they were crazy, then I thought- Ease of care, smaller package overall, ability to wrap/tie to pole! These are .200 or so N690 from the AKS. The hawkbill was due in part to RiggerRobert and I was trying not to waste steel. I had Bos do the heat treat so that I wouldn't have so much sitting around in the shop making me crazier!

Steel- N690 Bos heat treat and cryo
Rc- 59-60
Finish- mill scale flats, blasted and stonewashed, blade bevels hand rubbed to 400 then scotch brite.
Sheath- to be decided by customer either leather or kydex.
Only thing to do besides the sheaths is to sharpen them. Typically after the sheath is built.
Blade on the clip points-3 3/4"
Overall 8 3/8".

Thoughts? Dan

PS- These will be for sale in the customs area later today.

Nope, I am only a part time maker and shows just take up a lot of time that my family doesn't want to share. Maybe someday in 11 years or so when my youngest is out of the house. Dan
