Skeletonizing regular manix liners

Like the title says I am interested in skeltonizing the liners on my manix 2 s30v. I recently handled an s110v with burple g10 handles at a gun show and loved the balance of it. Upon closer inspection it appeared to have skeletonized liners. So my question is has anyone else performed this yet? How did you go about it. Or should I just leave well enough alone, even though I really like the way the s110v felt in the hand. Thanks guys
