Dave Lisch is more computer challenged than I am. At least I can receive jpeg images, but just try sending them to him. Figured the next best option was post them here, where Dave can see them.

Two different handles, Dave, for the iron dagger. They're a little harsher, more "thorny" than usual. Either damascus or blued steel for the fittings, ivory, wood, or burgundy Micarta (NOT) for the handle.

The rest of you guys are welcome to comment.

David

Wow - this is going to be some kind of a beautiful piece. I prefer the double downward curving guard to the "S" guard.

Beautiful design, someone's going to be very happy.

I also prefer the double-down guard.

I cannot wait to see this one finished

David I like the downward guard. I just do not think that the S guard works with that blade. I should let the folks know a little about the blade. It is a new thing I am working on. I call it wrought into the core, so the lighter steel in the center is wrought iron with damascus on the edges. I gave the blade to my friend DB to make into a knife as research for another project we have coming up. So if he works on it I do think he will have it at Blade for sale I will be happy just to see what David does with it. And then I might even try to do one myself. Yes I have been thinking about making Daggers lately I have made some blades but have not taken that next step maybe soon. I like blued steel for the guard, the shape is so cool I think damascus might be to much.

Well, I'm glad Dave finally got to see my sketches! Fix your computer!!!

As Dave said, this was research on his part. After building the billet he was having a hard time seeing what to make from it. Sometime you have to get into the right frame of mine and drink the right kind of potion (Starbuck's Gold Coast) to see into the billet and find what's there! I saw something different, so I doodled what you see in the pics.

I also prefer the downward curved guard. The "S" guard would be better for something else. Blued steel would probably be best, along with a dark handle. Might as well make this "dark and earthy" as someone called much of my work. If I can do it I might have it for sale at Blade. Might mean having to put a sub hilt fighter on the back burner though.

And Dave, for that other project we have coming up? I got some ideas. We can talk at Blade.

"Wrought into the core"? Crazy!

Thanks for the comments.

David
