Hey guys. I've been running my XM-24 on bearings and would like to try washers. My knife came with washers installed but i wasn't impressed. My CRK's have got me acquainted to smooth washer feel. I was wondering what size washers i'd need? Do i go off of the stock washer thickness or do you get them a bit smaller, a bit larger than stock? I don't remember how much i had to tension the pivot when i tried to adjust the washers myself.

You can buy a replacement Triway washer kit (PB and Teflon) from RKH for $6.95. These are smaller ones. I usually use larger ones in the 24, same thicknesses as stock, that I buy on eBay.

Start a bit tighter, PB washers wear in.

Skiff Thick Washers are sized just like the corresponding Cage Bearings. The Skiff Thick Washers should have the same pivot size, of course, and the same thickness as the ball size on the corresponding Cage Bearing. My favorite knives all run on washers; so when I recently received the Null Raikou, Skiff Thick Washers made it one of my new favorite knives. So, so nice.

I put skiff bearings in all my ti Hinderers, since I’m taking them apart might as well, i
Like em. My Eklipses have a really smooth, controlled action. Some of the best. The XM-24 is still very drop-shut with the skiffs because that blade is just so damn big. Smooth as glass tho.
I just checked the triway size for the thick washers they make, it’s 0.252”(ID)x0.420”(OD) x0.0625” thick.
