Hello folks,

New skinner done !

Altough I'm in exam periods - very busy - I just can't stand it..
Knifemaking is really addictive.

Anyway, I'm not gonna attach large pics for the slow connection folks, I uploaded them for your convience.

Here's the large picture :

And here's the small :

Specs:
Handforged 5160, my first really flat grind, also a handrubbed blade for 60 g to 1200 g then polished. Really thin edge, gonna be for a pro skinner. Differentially HT'ed as usual, tripple quench, double temper.

Handle is reindeer, polished and stabilized ( Had a vacuum pump suck the sponge full of epoxy before using it), then leather spacer for grip, thuya and brass. Handle is also XXL, but very comfy and usable in many grips. handmade mosaic pin with red epoxy ( only visible if you look at a lightsource trough the pin).

Sheath is still in the works, but I'm thinking about a nice tight skandinavian style sheath of 3 mm leather.

Lemme know what you think of it.. pics don't really do it justice as usual, flatbed scanner sucks for shiny things.

greetz and take care folks.

Knifemaking will take over your life alright... That's a nice one, I really like the blade and the handle shape. Keep em coming! But you have to study too. :D

Hey Bart, I think that's your nicest knife yet! You should be very pleased with it! I really like your combination of materials.

That's really nice Bart. I normally don't like the large wooden spacers but you carried it off well. I agree, that's your best yet.

Hi Bart,

long time no see no hear!

Nice knife. I like the material combination a lot. Your grinds keep getting better and better. Try getting away from them cheating leather spacers and get yourself a more precise drill press to get rid of the problems with the rivet hole. This would make the knife look really professional.
