I have had a hankering for a Scout for a long time now so I just bit the bullet at the weekend and got to work on my Skinner. The Scouts I've seen posted by other members have all been a little bit different, that is something I actually quite like in these unofficial knives.
The inspiration for my Scout was largly the Nyala. The original knife was reprofiled, the spine was rounded slightly and it has a subtle swedge to help blend the lines. The spine was hand rubbed to a 600 finish.

Here are some quick and dirty pics, I'll try and get some glamour shots at the weekend when I take it out for a proper spin. So far it's making for a very nice knife indeed.:)

Haze, nice work. The one piece knives got scarce before I could find a smaller one. However, I ran into the 9 inch tanto in a small shop, in the middle of no where, and just had to have it. Even though the knife has never been used, I have no regrets, because I can enjoy just handling the on piece knives. What a manufacturing and design marvel they are.

Thanks much guys. :)

It was a tough decision to make, I just stood infront of a turning 2" belt with the knife for about 5 minutes before I actually went for it. :D IMO it's a shame CRK didn't actually make these knives. Having had a few days to play with it I have to say that it's about as spot on as I can get for my knife uses. This knife with a woods axe or a larger chopping/clearing blade would be a very nice set up for a couple of days in the mountains.......this weekend. ;)

Yeah...if they were still in production it would be easier. Acquiring one of these today as a project knife would give me a little pause, unless I lucked out and found a beater for short dollars.

Thanks much guys. :)
