So i work in a zoology lab and have been skinning about 2-3 animals a week varying from owls to deers and even a tortoise. I was looking for a new skinning knife since I've been using my griptillian and a small fixed blade anza for a while and have the perfect excuse for a dedicated skinner now. Just curious to know if anyone has any recommendations for a good blade. I was considering something like the game warden or muk (probably from scrapyard because of the handle). Any other i might be overlooking and opinions would be greatly appreciated!

An Anorexic B4 is a favorite of mine. And may be easier to find than the excellent Scrapmuk. The Busse Drop Point Hunter is on my short list to try.

Do you know where and/or when the drop point hunter was available? They seem pretty few and far between.

Not a Busse, but a short HACK War Dog from the yard, or even a standard War Dog, might do the trick.

I would go for a Pork Belly Skinner

Or a MUK

Or maybe a Drop Point Hunter

SCABS, I have skinned around 35 deer with mine over the past two years. It works great. Also the Swamp Rat Vex is a winner.

I have been using the same Active Duty for the past 7 or 8 seasons. It serves me very well.

On the things you mention you need something small, not a very wide blade, a fair amount of belly, and a straight handle will help.

It would be hard to beat a Cultie, or the current Mean Street that is up on the Busse site now.
You can easily get four fingers on both, and they would be great on anything from owl to deer.

Thanks for all the advice guys this just makes it harder haha ok but the scabs looks appealing so does the drop point hunter

And my older brother just got an active duty so I'll probably steal it for a while to see how it works out
