So.... this just happened:
Skinny ASH-1 w/G10, Chuddy Bear and (what appears to be) Mashed Cat Kydex sheath... it was new/unused/safe queen. I immediately cut up some shipping boxed (holidays are good for extra cardboard), sliced up a couple packs of chicken thigh, and smoothed the coating a bit. Not sure if she'll be a stripper (but it's very likely)--for now, I'll just admire this skinny ash just as she is... I think this one has just knocked my beloved Hellrazor out of the top spot... maybe. More usage to come--fire pit, hiking trail, and next camping trip.
This one is a little special in a different way too--some extra (and unexpected) modest funds came my way from my recently deceased uncle's estate; in effect this will be his last gift to me. He was more than my mom's brother--he was the guy who raised me, was closer to me and better to me than my parents, and he died in my arms after refusing further treatment for his illnesses about six months ago. The last thing he did was give me a smile. He really liked my other Busses, and we had some good talks by the fire pit as I whittled. I'll be doing that with this blade too.
And on a more cheery note--many thanks to all the good folks at Busse Combat, you rock of course. Thanks for making such great blades.
