skinny knife

howdy blade afficionados i am new here and wanted to ask a question about this skinny knife i had but dont know pictures are loaded here.is it all through third party?thank you. if i resolve my problem i will upload picture here.well this knife is very hard to open.one has to pull handle apart with thumbnail and is very hard.it locks into place pretty good but not fun to reach for because its a chore. it was given to me years ago my an old man and i see why.does anything about this knife &one know who in their right mind would invent such a thing?thank you.

I'm sorry, I know nothing about this knife.

However, there are far, FAR worse things that have been invented with a blade. A stroll through this thread should make you appreciate what you have: :)
 
That looks like a vintage Executive Edge knife from Brazil. Made from the 1980's into the early 90's. The lock mechanism is known as the "Deadlock".

The brand or maker of the Executive Edge knives is LAN. I don't know if that is a person or company.

They are somewhat rare and sought after by some collectors.

I have had one since the 80s or 90s...I can't remember when or where I got it. It's really nice. My only knife from South America. I'd love to know more about the maker.
