Just got my Skirmish in the mail today(thanks A-Zone:)), and this thing is a BEAST!!!
I mean, it's about the same blade length as the Military, but it is a totally different animal.
I find the thumb hole works just fine, despite the chamfer, and the blade to handle ratio can't be beat(on a par with the original Police).
Tip is a tad wide for certain pocket knife tasks, like opening envelopes, and the Military will slice better, but it's no slouch in the cutting department, and I can't wait to see how it chops.
Built like a tank, this folder is. It feels and looks more like a fixed blade than a folder when it's open.
Glad to have finally gotten one, and at a good price(thanks to A-Zone again).
I'd recommend getting one while they're still available for a decent price.
 
It's the one B/M I really like best of all.
I think they already are getting high one was up for auction today and was at around 230 with a day to go and there wasn't hardly any up. They seem to have dried up overnight.

I have that same knife too. It is my favorite BM for now and perhaps ever. Even if I don't have a lot of use for it :D
 
The pic of the Skirmish beside the Military really gives some perspective.:)
 
I got a lot of bad-ass Spydercos but that big B/M is what I reach for when I want a fast to open knife that makes me feel like I'm packing something extra wicked.
 
Not crazy about the rainbow grooves, now maybe in black with a think stud and no holes, that would be sweet.
 
i love mine! i got mine right before the '09 catalog came out and they announced that it was being discontinued. i got it for $135 from a fellow member :)
it IS a tank! its gonna be more of a looker and collectible than a user tho

I love the Skirmish as well---it's hard to believe it's going to be gone. Just like the Dodo---not the bird, the Spyderco.

I love my boyfriends Skirmish, and someday I'd like to get my own. But as of right now he lets me play with it so it holds me over. ;-)
