Skiving knife like Mr. Long uses

I want to buy one like Paul uses in his "Basic Pouch Sheath" video. (Highly recommended by the way as are all his videos. I own them all and couldn't be happier)

But I am having a hard time finding it.

Any one knows where I can find one?

I could be wrong , but I think he is now using a Horsewright ( Dave Ferry ) skiving knife .
There is a thread here somewhere about it .

Patrice, that's a Hyde #2 and I don't think they are made any more....at least under that brand. The closest I've found is at http://www.rmurphyknives.com/store/leather-knives.html scroll down to thin blade skiving knife.

I no longer use the Hyde #2. I have graduated to the "Dave Ferry # 1. I used the old Hyde #2 model for years and years, probably wore out a dozen of them, but after using the Dave Ferry.....well if it ever gets replaced it will be with another Dave Ferry.

There is a pretty good difference in price, but for the quality of build, edge holding, and sharpness, it's worth every penny to me. I do use my skiver multiple times daily.

Paul, I am saving my money for a Palmgraver from Steve Lyndsay so that Dave Ferry is just out of my price range for now. I will have to go with the cheaper alternative. But it will go in my ToBuy list for sure.

I tried skiving the deerskin with a safety beveler and it does a nice job that a blind drunk epileptic monkey would be really proud of.:grumpy:
