SKS wooden stock

I recently picked up a SKS along with a spare original wooden stock that is in much better shape than the one on the rifle. I cannot get the stock to fit completely. The recoil assembly isn't aligned perfectly. I would guess I need to remove some wood on the new stock but I'm not sure where. Has anyone here ever had a similar issue? Can anyone suggest how to solve this? Thanks in advance for all input.

Is it possible to get pictures of what you've got? It might make it easier to figure out what the problem is.
