Skull filler tab question

OK, I bought a skull filler tab because it looks cool/mean.
Did Hinderer design the pocket clip with the recessed screw area just so we could have the cool filler tabs or was
the filler tab designed after the knife feature?
Also, does anyone really know if the chicken came before the egg?

Legend has it that Rick was hand carving the first XM out of spikey mammoth tusk when lightening struck where he intended to mount the clip leaving a divot.
Rick looked up and said, "that's what I was thinking too".
 
Here is another question: does that little silver skull have any other purposes or uses?
The XMs look just fine without such adornments

Yes. But to each his own. Just One of the many things that make Hinderer so Great. One can customize, adorn and adore to thine hearts content.
 
Rick added the filler tab so you wouldn't have a void on the end without the clip, the SF skulls came well after. The skulls don't serve a purpose other than aesthetics.

Wait, so they don't ward off zombies and make you more attractive to the opposite sex?
 
When silver skyrockets the skulls will be worth more than the knife at which point in time it would be attractive to the opposite sex! :D
