Skulls anyone?

The pewter skulls with the glowing eyes are really nice!

Why would you put skulls on your lanyard? Now on a fob I can understand, but a lanyard?

Hello zh,

I actually mad a neck lanyard/ID badge lanyard with one of the tad gear skulls on it. Pretty cool IMHO since the skull acts as a slider. People ask for sliders on them sometimes, and this is an alternative.

Ahhhhh. Thanks for the info Master Fob Dude.

By the way anyone. Ghostrider is quite the talented Fob (and Lanyard) maker.

ghostrider beat me to it. The skull is used for decoration and a slide. The slide comes in handy if you're using your knife around water. Fishing, canoeing, synchronized swimming, etc. :D

Let me be the "loyal opposition" here. I think that using that sort of decoration is both tacky and conterproductive as it feeds into the image that non-knife people have of knife people as kill crazy psychopaths.

Fuller,

I actually agree with you. My knives are seldom seen, if ever, in public. The skull can easily be removed and replaced and it's a fun way to change the look for your knife. The skull is really only there for me to enjoy. Okay, enjoying a skull does sound kind of psycho.

Best,
Tom

There's something wrong with that?

Oh.

I'm looking for a pewter or silver skull that will act as a slider on TWO thicknesses of paracord. The only ones I've seen will only accomodate two paracords when the cord is "gutted."

Interesting. That would like nice with the titanium ATR. Thanks for the heads-up.

I would say it has that potential, but really depends on where and how said tackily decorated knife is used.

I'm a bit too old for the skull "thing"......but I wouldn't mind finding a slider in the shape of a buffalo.......or a geriatric "walker" :D

TAD Gear says, "VERTICAL HOLE FITS ONE STRAND OF PARACORD OR 2 STRANDS WITH CORE REMOVED."

It's a little tight, but I used two thicknesses of paracord and did not remove the core. First, I put one paracord through the skull. Then I cut the other end of the paracord at an angle and melt it. Using a needle, I stitched heavy upholstery thread through the angled end. Then thread the two ends of the upholstery thread through the skull and pull it through.

The TAD Gear skull is solid pewter and thick, so the other option would be to drill the hole a little larger.

I know what you mean by not wanting to remove the inner strands. Paracord loses its body and strength.

Thanks. I saw that detail about only fitting one whole strand, and I thought "away with it!"

But I once managed to jam two strands of paracord through the blue nozzle-like part of a Bic pen (as a binder for a knife lanyard), so I guess I would be able to manage with this thing.
