My dogs killed a skunk on my front porch. Anyone have a solution for getting the stain and smell off the vinyl siding? Thanks!

I have used this for the Dogs and it works for the oder.

How to get rid of skunk spray odor smell.
Here is the secret recipe that WORKS. Mix the following:

1 quart 3 percent hydrogen peroxide
1/4 cup baking soda (sodium bicarbonate)
1 teaspoon liquid soap or dish detergent
Mix these together and bathe ("shampoo" in or rub down) the spray victim thoroughly.
Be sure to use this mixture immediately after it is created, as it is unstable.
Rinse with tap water afterward, and repeat if necessary.
For spray in the eyes, flush with water as soon as possible.

Remember the Partridge Family episode when the skunk got on the bus...and everyone took a tomato sauce bath...then thier manager Reuben walks into the hotel and says...

Whats that smell?

What does it smell like?

It smells like a clean skunk!

a great line...

Tomato juice.

Had a friend in Montana who's dimwit dog kept going after skunks, or any other critter, for that matter. Twice the dog caught skunks in his garage; the TJ will stain things pink, but it does noticeably help with the smell.

thx - cpr

The skunk liquid is alkaline. A mild acid will neutralize it, then you can wash it away with soap and water. Don't use anything alkaline during the process or you could end up reactivating the skunk stuff. (Joy dish soap works. Don't use automatic dishwasher soap or the like.)

Suitable acidic liquids include
Tomato juice
Vinegar
Orange juice

We lived in the foothills when I was growing up and our two boxers got skunked at least once every summer. This is a proven remedy.

If whatever you use for the walls smells or slightly stains, you might be able to get it off with TSP from your home improvement store.

For example a proven antidote for skunk juices is vinegar, a proven method for taking wallpaper off walls is vinegar soaking, and a proven method for getting rid of the vinegar and residual glue is TSP.

Home Depot has an eco-friendly TSP mix that is much better if your waste water runs off into rivers or oceans. Works almost as well as the toxic version.

Tomato paste but it did take a couple of baths to get the smell off my Weimeraner, and he had short hair.
