So, what lather did 007 use in Skyfall?

I'm guessing Taylor of Old Bond Street.

Floris No.89 is supposed as James' cologne of choice, as it was Ian Flemings. Not sure what soap smells like that, but mensbiz (where I've been buying shave stuff in Oz) seems to consider Trumper's Eucris to be similar.
Personally I think it would be something simple, like sandalwood from someone like Truefitt and Hill? Although he is supposed a navy man, so what would a Navy Commander use?

Well if shaken not stirred is any clue, I'd guess canned foam rather than real lather. I also disagree with shaking my Martini.

Oh no. You need to see Skyfall. It's hard soap and a brush and then a straight razor. Inasmuchas you obviously have not yet seen the movie, I will not spoil the scene for you any further.

Not much lather in that pic.....Probably if Bond were Navy he'd actually use something very austere and not posh stuff. Palmolive or Williams then.....

Well I saw it this weekend. I'd convert to a sstrait if I could get someone like Eve to help me learn. :) As for the soap is there an old Scottish brand? As the theam of the movie was doing it old school I'd guess we'd have to assume he was useing an old Scottish soap.

Not old but I believe Castle Forbes is a Scottish brand, very costly too.

Truefitt & Hill I think has been around since the mid 1800's. their stuff is awesome. Haven't seen the movie yet but am always glad when movies promote straight razors (even though they're all prohibitively expensive now, dammit).

Makes me wanna shave with one, but twice in 8 hours is probably a bad idea. :)

Haven't seen the movie, but heard on the radio that there's been a 400% rise in the sale of straight razors here! Time to stock up before prices of shaving products rise accordingly!

Taylor's is a good guess. Erasmic is old school, but probably a bit too common for M16!

400% rise? wow!!... coming to that..these old school razors aren't cheap.. some even more than a electric 3 headed shaver from Braun or Philips@!!! this movie is all about old fashion...

So whats the most likely brand / model that appears in the movie, that Bond will use. most likely Scottish brand?

Realistically, Bond would use a Vintage Sheffield with a barber notch and MWF or Coates as his soap. 100% sure Bond SHOULD use a Simpson brush...likely a Duke 2 in finest....

No he wouldn't. He turned his back and walked away from his heritage and all traditions after his parents died. While he did go to Eton and Fettes College in the books, it was the Navy and MI6 that raised him.

Whatever he uses, he would have gotten it from Pankhurst on Savile Row.

But in the movie he is looking back towards his heritage, family, and traditions. The movie has a theme of doing it the old way.
