Skyline and Knockout

I don't have a Knockout, but I'm sure it'll get plenty of praise. I love my Skyline, but It's getting some sharpening done by a very good friend on here. The pocketclip is perfect, at least for me. It doesn't have any "weird" issues and the retention is perfect. It fits the hand very well and it only weighs about 2.6 ounces (if you're one of those people). The only things about the Skyline that I would change is making access to the liner a little better and that the clip would carry deeper in the tip-up configuration.

I'm actually quite impressed with the edge that's on it now. It's pretty wicked. :D The Skyline is a great lightweight EDC knife option. I'll always recommend it.

The Knockout was my favorite knife until the CF Blur came along. That knife wasn't out of my pocket at all before that. It's robust, perfectly sized, and cut very very well. You cannot go wrong with either knife.

Big fan of the Skyline. One of the few knives I own multiple of. Great lightweight, unobtrusive knife that works great for most common knife tasks I run into on a day to day basis.

First off, both are awesome knives. I wish I had my knockout right now, but it won't be back from getting Cerakoted for a few weeks. The skyline is an awesome little edc, and I recommend the orange model. KnottyEagle, who's sharpening yours? I need mine sharpened pretty bad.

Look at post #3 :)

Thanks. After I typed this question I found a Kershaw Echelon which I liked so I ordered it. The Skyline will have to wait until next CC period.

If you are looking for a nice edc that is light and not scary then the skyline is the most amazing thing like that I have encountered. I fell so in love with mine that I spent almost a year and hundreds of dollars to collect every variant.

I have both:

Skyline- I have most of the versions, two in orange, one of which is in my shorts/lounge pants at all times at home (well, except at the moment; thanks to Sticktodrum, I now have a CF154 Blur blem in my pocket, love it!). Now that I have the orange Skyline broken in, it is one of the smoothest, fastest manual knives that I own. Really feels good in hand, nicely contured. I think you can't go wrong with a Skyline.

Knockout- There is a lot to like about this one, and I carry it every once in a while. If it had trac-tec in the handle grooves, it would be much better, to me, anyway. Some think that it's grippy enough, some think it's too slippery. I lean towards the "needs more grip" camp. But definitely don't pass it over, make your own decision.

Bought a NIB Skyline from Wolf-man-12 for a good price. Now I have an Echelon and a Skyline coming.
I got the Echleon from the Kershaw Store,if they are not on the team please delete their name.

I bought a blem xxxx Skyline in Dec and it has become my favorite edc. Lightweight, strong great ergos and fun to play with.

Nice pickup - I own two blem versions of the original styled echelon courtesy of Kershawguy - Great Echelon art/video here:

The Knockout is the beefier of the two (three when counting the Echelon) on account of it's Sub-frame lock. I wonder how people's experiences with those have been? Probably all boils down to intended use. Are these your first Kershaws? If so, welcome to the brand!

Definately not my first. I've tried different brands but sold them all and now I stick with Kershaw.
I can't do pics but so far I have 2 Scallions,1 Leek,1 Blur, 1 fixed blade 1080OR RMEF,a ZT 200,350,400 and a 560. The Skyline and Echelon are coming.

Both a well made. The skyline is a little small for my hands so I don't think I'll be hanging onto it much longer. The knockout is a tougher blade but for the size it's fairly light and thin.

Surprised no one mentioned the Piston yet. It's the knife you would get if the skyline and knockout had a really healthy baby. I have been carrying one for a couple of months now, it's amazing. I have a skyline and it just sits in a drawer, the handle is too small and I just never liked it.

The piston is a great EDC if you like a mid to large size knife. It's light, cuts great, and carries pretty deep for having a normal pocket clip.
