So, I have a skyline with a hollow grind, but now as I look at the KAI website, they have a new picture of the Skyline with a flat grind...or so it seems. Is there really a change in grinds?

Nope. That's actually not a new picture, it's quite an old rendering. If you look at the other photos on the Skyline page on the site, you'll see the standard hollow grind. As of now, the only Skyline with a flat grind is the Bladeforums edition, with a flat ground S30V blade. All other variations have a hollow ground blade.

I'm sort of confused about this because the one I am talking about. There are 2 renderings. This one I am questioning, I never saw, even on the KAI site. The newer rendering has the same rendering as the BF special edition blade.

That first rendering has been around a very long time. I remember seeing it long before the forum skyline was even an idea. As stick said, the BFC is the only one that actually has a flat grind. Anyone else using that rendering is selling a hollow grind and needs to update their photos.

Oddly enough, they have that old stock photo on the official site:

I imagine it's because it was a stock photo they had in their archive, and just used it in the build of the new website. It fits the style of the other stock photos of the knives on the site, so that makes sense. You'll also notice that there are other, more accurate photos on the product page with the proper grind:

So, they're all hollow ground except for the 1760BFC. That includes the recently released SW models from BladeHQ. 14C28N, hollow ground, stonewashed. On a side note, the flat grind and S30V are what make the 1760BFC so special, despite what some folks may have said about the more recently released models.

I love Skylines, can you tell? I don't even carry one...which makes me smirk a bit. Cheers!

As has been said, the only flat ground Skyline I've heard of to date is the BFC one.

The pic might be of a prototype and didn't get updated on the website, catalogs, or resellers' materials. The Zing SS pics on the Kershaw site also appear to differ slightly (handle screws, pocket clip, jimping) from the actual production model. It does appear to match one in the preview video from KershawKnivesMike, which featured a prototype Zing SS.

Thanks, in any case, the skyline still rocks...Any talk of continuing the BF skyline? There was some mention that they might continue on if they were popular enough.
