Hey guys my 3 first knives were all kershaw because of their high value nature at a low PP. I then got into the benchmade and spydie world with a 551 grip, para 2 and sage 1. I really want to get back into kershaw and was wondering if the skyline was a good place to start .

Thanks,
Ryan

It's a great place to start! The skyline is a excellent knife for an excellent price!

I really like my skyline. Great for EDC but the liner lock is not super strong IMO so you may want to be careful in heavy cutting tasks.

I will second BobSig on the ZT recommendation. I just sold off my Skylines and most of my budget friendly*Kershaws to go with the ZT side of things. The Skylines are great knives, just not my cup of tea. Guess it really depends on what you plan to use it for. I personally like bigger knives and don't mind the extra weight. Good luck on your decision.

I like the higher end Kershaw's and the ZT's. The Random Task II (discontinued) is on sale most places and a steal for less than 50 bucks. You can't go wrong with Blurs either. Another neato Kershaw is the Ripcord. It's unusual as it's a OTF knife (also discontinued).

If I were you, I'd also try and get a G-10 Lee while you still can. They've been DC'd and are fantastic little knives - IMHO, the best leek handle out there. The blade is premium S30V on those. The Random Leek is also DC'd but still available. Of course these are just some of my Kershaw fav's. Everybody has their taste, but I also like the *hunt* for knives that are getting harder to find.

There are a couple ZT's on good sale right now too! The 0121 (dc'd) is a STEAL right now. Just have to look around as I don't think we're allowed to post vendors here unless they're paying vendors. I'm not sure if they are or not. Anyways, just do some searching and you'll find the deals.

Check out Kershawguy here first, hard to find better prices than his and you wont find better service.

I would snatch up a Bead-Blasted and all Black Cryo from Kershawguy for $25 a piece. You can get your Skyline after that, because those are deals you can't pas-up.

Skyline would be a fine choice. Not sure what 3 Kershaws you already have... The Leek, Blur, and Skyline are my personal favorites.

Yes, and get it in blaze orange! I love this little knife!

That's the one i kept. I like the orange the best. Just to small for me to carry. May actually get the brown/black and do a little switcharoo. I'm partial to orange/black combos.

As am I! I am thinking about getting my blade Cerakoted in black...

Is the Cerakote fairly cheap and easy to do? I just fugured it would be cheaper and easier to get a brown Skyline (since it already has black blade) from Dave and switch them. That way they can always be switched back if the need arises.

Easy for the guy I am sending my stuff to, and fairly cheap. When I get my knockout back you will see how good it looks too :)

Thinking I may have my Cryo sent in for a hydro coat. They have some interesting patterns. We will see.

I'm pretty sure cerakote is one of the best coatings to get for wear resistance, and as inexpensive as it is, it's a very good thing to look into. Keep an eye out for my thread in the next few weeks and you might get it done yourself!
