Can't search and Google actually turned up nothing useful. So, what's the general concensus on the Kershaw Skyline (model 1760)? My knife shop says they don't have any yet, so I have no idea what they even look like except fro the one stock photo up at Kershaw's page http://www.kershawknives.com/productdetails.php?id=430

It certainly looks like a good bargain... Sandvik blade, flipper, G-10 handles, U.S.-made, 30 bucks. Anybody have one yet?

Its actually one of my favorite knives. It feels good and sturdy in hand, it flips nicely, and the steel is easy to sharpen. It doesnt hold the edge as long as d2, s30v, or any of the other high end steel but its pretty decent. The skyline hasnt left my pocket since I bought it (a few months ago.)

Same here. It's funny, I have Kershaws that cost me hundreds of dollars and my favorite EDC right now is a 30 dollar Skyline. A great bargin, sturdy knife and a heckuva filpper. I say get one, you probably won't be disappointed.

Haha exactly. My other most carried kershaw is the Ti/ZDP leek, and that hasnt been carried at all since I got the skyline. The ergonomics of the handle and the blade shape/length make it a perfect edc for me. I would pay a lot of money for a ti/zdp skyline though.

This has become my favorite Kershaw EDC light, sharp and quick to flip and has G10 handles.Made in the USA for around 30 dollars. Good steel and excellent edge geometry. This is a knife I am proud to own and kershaw should be congratulated on the quality and design of a outstanding knife for a very low price.

I agree with all that’s been said before. The Skyline is a neat knife and it’s now my EDC while I wait for the release of the OD-1 and The Pack Rat. It’s kind of a lighter, slimmer, locking Sodbuster with a flip. My only concern has to do with the blade alignment when closed. If you back off the pivot screw to make the blade easier to flip, the pressure from the liner lock pushes the blade well off center toward the G-10 side. I tried to shim up the blade, with another pivot screw washer, to correct the alignment but with no luck. Maybe it's just my knife?

I polished the washers and the area of the blade where the washers contact. I then used tuff-glide and put it all back together. Mine is almost perfectly centered and it flips open easily.

I didn't even dissasemble mine, I just let some Tuff Glide seep into the pivot and cycled it about 2 dozen times, now flips like a rocket. The thing about the Skyline is that you don't have to loosen it, once broken in the flipper geometry allows for perfect hard openings every time, and the knife stays as centered as it was out of the box (which in my case was perfect).

That way works also. I enjoy tinkering with things though, and mine was not very well centered out of the box.

I really want one of these!
I like the simple, sleek and practical design of it, not to mention the price.

I’m a Tuff Glide user. When I got my Skyline I flipped it, off and on, for a couple of days before loosening the pivot and ordering another washer.

I’ve polished the washers but not where they make blade contact so I’ll give that a shot.

We’ll see. It’s a $30 knife and nothing’s perfect.

I am very enthused about this knife. I ordered one a couple days ago and if I'm lucky it will arrive today. I will take some pictures and post up a short review when upon arrival.

Cheers :)

I can't wait for the review. I'm in the market for an under $40.00 EDC and the Skyline is one of several I am looking at as my next knife.
