Skyline question

Get a faster finger.

Just ordered the "faster finger plus". Should be here next week.:D

Make sure you have the pivot adjusted properly and that you're using the preload method. They do need to get broken in a little to get max flippiness. Also try cleaning and lubing with your favorite oil. I have been using nano oil on all my knives and it does a good job. Good luck.

I took it down, cleaned it and lubed it with coon p.

I am fairly new to folders, so I was reluctant to disassemble. Upon reassembly, I noticed that the blade had not been riding center, and was creating drag against the G10 liner. The blade is now centered, rock solid, and deploys reliably.

Thanks for the help and the laughs.

I've got it so smooth now, no wrist necessary.

I'm liking this Skyline so much, I'm going to order the coyote/black model.

This topic has gotten me curious on deployment techniques. I noticed a few listed. I'm going to search on the forum, unless someone wants to elaborate...

By simply pressing down on the flipper like a 'push button', the blade deploys fully and consistently.

Sweet.

There is two methods to flipping, the light switch "front to back finger sweep" witch needs a good strong detent, and seems to be preferred by most.
The second method is to build up pressure on the flipper by pushing it forward and slowly move your finger back till it releases. kinda like flicking out a thumbstud but with a flipper.
A skyline is the later.

Other than that, get some Nano Oil. It will change your life. :)

If done right, the "light switch" method doesn't require a good detent. In fact, it doesn't require any detent :) That being said, I still prefer to use other methods for most of my flippers.
