Skyline Report & Looking for a new Knife

Hey Everyone,

Just wanted to report that I took my kershaw skyline into the woods yesterday for turkey hunting. After my dad and I harvested 2 two year old gobblers we decided to test my skyline. The skyline was able to completely process both turkey's and was still able to slice through paper! I am very impressed. However, even though the skyline held up very very nice to that work, I am considering getting my next blade. I am wanting another folder knife to take to the woods. While my skyline did great I would also like something a bit more solid. The kershaw has a thin blade and it cut through the meat, bone, and skin nicely but I want something a bit beefier incase the skyline ever fails. I would also use it to cut twigs, rope, so on and so forth. I have been looking into the Kershaw One Ton; its cheap, large, thin, and looks like a tank. I also am looking into the spyderco persistence or tenacious. I feel like the tenacious would be pretty big. I also feel like the persistence might be the right knife because even though it is smaller it looks like it is built just as tough. But then once again the One Ton is slimmer than the tenacious, a frame lock, with a larger blade than the persistence, at 1/3 the cost (I can abuse it more without feeling bad). Looking for some guidance. Thanks guys! BTW, I have ruled out fixed blades, already have a lot to carry on my belt when I go into the woods.

The Spyderco Gayle Bradley in CPM-M4 sounds like a natural for your wishes. Awfully sharp; lasts awfully long between sharpenings. Extremely popular.

What's your budget?
That's a big determining factor..

Judging by the knives he mentioned, it's around $20-$45.

OP, since you're looking for something tough, I'd recommend one of Cold Steel's Tri-Ad lock folders. A clip point Voyager should work nicely, they come in different sizes.

The Ontario RAT 1 or 2, and the Utilitac II can probably suit your needs quite nicely.
