HELP!!!!!!! The frustration mounts.
I'm new to making knives. I have the old band saw blades figured heat treated wise. I'm having issues with slab handles. I have 2 nice looking knives with dried and milled maple. Drilled the holes in the tang, glued and rivited the slabs on and Sat back feeling very proud and content. I noticed tonight that the handles seem to have shrunk and it looks like they have pulled away from the pins and the tang. Not much mind you but enough to vex me. I'm working in a unheated shop downstairs. I live on the west coast and its kinds humid here. Is this the reason why a piece of aged, dried, milled piece of maple, oak, teak seem to shrink when I bring them inside?
