Can anyone help "learn me the Jedi ways of knot tying" this ?
I find it very helpful and would like to use a similar knot on other items?
Thanks in advance,
Wesley

The question is: how does one, such as myself, become worthy of such a knot tying lesson? Does eagerness and persistence count, or is humbleness and silence a better combination of attributes?
If it is Guiness drinking, I have already failed as I prefer a good Ale or Lager to Stout.
Alas, I may never know.
:(
Thanks again,
Wesley

I just realized that I have failed again by spelling "Guinness" wrong.

Would be possible to post pics along with directions on your website as you have done for the handle rewraping procedure?
Take care,
Wesley

Unfortunately, I do not have the time or money to travel to California, as my money is spent on Striders and my time is then spent moonlighting to catch up with the bills.:)

The best book I've found for all kinds of fancy lacing, knots, and lanyards is "Leather Braiding" by Bruce Grant - my copy is dated 1961. The ISBN # is 0-87033-039-X. After I saw what I thought to be a 4-thong square braid on Mick's AR/GB in the kydex rig, I went to this little book and did a 4-thong round braid w/Turks Head to finish. Using 550 black paracord and pulling out the inner white strands made for a nice compact lanyard.

Also available is the "Ashley Book of Knots" by Clifford W. Ashley (1973) that has even more interesting knots, but sorry no ISBN #. Hope this helps.

Go to a local book store and see if the have the Ashley Book of Knots. Thumb through it and find the square crown sinnet. There is a very simple drawing in there that makes it easy to understand. Mick's right it's hard to explain in writing but if you see the illustration it's pretty easy to remember. Good luck.

I will look it up. I had looked at mine, "The Knot Book" which did not have it available. I will also search the net for it. I have seen a "knot" site before, but cannot recall the URL.
